Teaching Methods and Support
RDI have over 17 years experience of offering text-based distance learning and have recently launched innovative, new programmes, which are completely online.
The term distance learning is often associated with solitary study but RDI have a number of experienced, well trained tutors who are there to support you. You can access your tutor either via their Virtual Learning Environment, e-mail or you can arrange a telephone tutorial.
The Virtual Learning Environment is an interactive space where you can meet other students and receive course announcements as well as access revision and additional learning materials. Depending on the course you enrol onto there are also additional resources such as access to the EBSCO e-journal database.
In addition to your tutor you get a dedicated Programme Coordinator at RDI who will be your main point of contact throughout your studies regarding any administrative queries or problems you might have.
Assessment Methods
RDI and its partners implement a variety of different assessment methods, the ones you will experience are dependant on the programme you choose to follow. A selection of the methods used are listed below:
- Written assignments
- Examinations
- Reports
- Time constrained assignments
- Practical reports
- Dissertations
Examinations can be sat for free either at RDI Headquarters in Coventry or at the unversity awarding your qualification.
Students
RDI has a diverse student base, the majority of whom take advantage of the flexible learning patterns to fit their study into their everyday working life. There are several thousand students enrolled with RDI from the UK and across the world. Applying
Applying with RDI is easy, you just need to complete their online application form. You will then normally need to submit two written references, a CV and copies of your previous academic certificates. Benefits of Distance Learning
The learning experience may be completely different from traditional university life but there are lots of benefits from studying via distance learning. The most significant of which is the ability to work full time whilst gaining a qualifcation identical to that of a full time student.
